Cook
The cook is responsible for setting up kitchen, preparing food and cooking for shift, maintaining a clean work area, following all company food recipes, and general housekeeping in adherence to all company policies and standards of behavior.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure each guest receives outstanding customer service in a warm and friendly environment
- Prepare all food for the line
- Ensure all items are labeled correctly
- Follow all recipes provided
- Maintain a clean work area throughout entire shift
- Prepare for the next day
- Detects and ensures disposal of spoiled or unattractive food
- Completes production sheets and other records as required
- Responsible for generating sales and cross selling all products and services within The Bodacious Family of Shops
- Adhere to dress code, standards of behavior, and all company policies, procedures and practices
- Receive inventory by checking invoices to ensure all items are accounted for
- Stock inventory in accordance with health code (i.e. no raw meats above raw vegetables)
- Break down and clean work area at the end of shift (stove top cleaned, sheet pans cleared and cleaned, dishes, sweep floor, ensure all food is put away properly, etc.)
- Make sure ovens are turned off
- May work special events and assist in all other departments; as needed with approval of supervisor(s)
- Communicate customer requests to management
- Performs all other duties as requested or directed
Requirements
- Maintain professional attitude and appearance at all times
- Well-organized and detail-oriented with all guest services
- Required to stand, walk, and lift items (up to 30 lbs.) on a regular basis
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to build relationships with customers
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED and one to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The key physical requirements of this position includes the ability to walk and stand for an extended period of time, lift up to 30 pounds, and the use of standard kitchen equipment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a regular, part-time, non-exempt position. Typical days and hours of work could vary according to business needs, including weekends, mornings, and evenings.
