Studer Community Institute (SCI) is a 501(c)(3) with a mission to improve the quality of life for all people in the diverse communities we serve. SCI’s Building Jobs Program provides mentoring, training and resources to narrow skills gaps, develop successful leaders, grow organizations, create jobs and drive economic development.
Position Summary
This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive leadership training and mentoring program that aligns with SCI’s mission. This role involves recruiting and training mentors and mentees, determining training topics, recruiting speakers, evaluating program effectiveness, developing strategic partnerships and securing sponsorship support. This role will be responsible for SCI’s Building Jobs programming, including EntreCon®, our annual business and leadership conference for 450+ attendees and the Venture Mentoring Service (VMS), a mentoring program developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Essential Functions
- Design and implement leadership training sessions that reflect the organization’s mission and objectives.
- Recruit subject matter expert speakers for training sessions and work directly with speakers leading up to the training on content and logistics.
- Identify, recruit, and train mentors and mentees from diverse backgrounds.
- Establish performance metrics and evaluation methods to assess training program success.
- Develop partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to promote the program and expand its reach.
- Prepare and manage program and conference budgets, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
- Promote SCI and the Building Jobs program through marketing campaigns, social media, and community outreach efforts.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Innovative thinker with a strong commitment to community service and entrepreneurial spirit.
- Have experience and understanding of business development and mentorship, and can strive towards revenue driven goals
- Experience in strategic planning and execution and budgeting
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong presentation skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as Google programs (Google Docs, Google Slides, etc.)
- Collaborative skills are required, along with a sense of teamwork, respect and professionalism
- Flexibility and adaptability
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Organizational Development, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership development, training, or mentor programs.
Position type and working hours
This is a regular, full-time, exempt position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, but often vary according to business event needs.

They include sitting, walking, bending, stooping, lifting up to 25 lbs., keyboarding and the use of standard office equipment including computers.
